Volunteer

Our program would not be possible without the generosity and investment of time, effort, talents and energy provided by our volunteers.  If you enjoy the outdoors, like working with horses, children and adults, and can commit to at least one or more hours(s) per week, Sugar Creek Equinapy needs you! Volunteer schedules are flexible, vary by events, and needs at the center.

Our volunteers come from all over the city and bring with them a diverse range of backgrounds.  Some have horse experience, some do not.  Generally, volunteers are at least 14 years old, but age acceptance can vary depending upon experience. Experience with horses is not required to volunteer.  Some people have worked with special needs individuals in the past; others have not.  No matter, they all have one thing in common, a passion for serving and helping others.

In addition to supporting activities involving the riders and horses, volunteers also lend a supporting hand and share their skills in accounting, writing, photography, computer or organizational skills with our center.  Whatever your talent or interest, there is a place for you at Sugar Creek Equinapy!

Adopt a Horse

Without our extraordinary volunteers, sponsors and staff, and our animals, the remarkable accomplishments of our riders would not be possible. It costs OVER $1500 a year for the care and maintenance of each horse, including such essentials as shoeing, feed, training and vet bills.

Please help us make miracles happen through their tax-deductible donations towards the cost of maintaining our horses.  If you would like to adopt a horse for a year, an annual donation of $1500 cover horse-related expenses.

Prospective horse sponsors may choose from those not yet “adopted” and their donations will be added to the fund set aside exclusively for horse care at Sugar Creek Equinapy.

Sugar Creek Equinapy sponsors recieve:

  • Personalized Adoption Certificate and a picture of their adopted horse
  • A tax-deductible donation receipt Five private riding sessions.
  • The sponsor's name placed on their horse’s stall in the barn
  • Become listed as a sponsor on our website

Thank you to our sponsors!
